Inclusive Education - Students with Disability and Diverse Learning Needs
Gin Gin State High School is a safe, inclusive environment where every student is supported to grow into a valued member of our local and wider community. We are proud to work alongside a diverse cohort of learners, including students with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, young people from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and those in a variety of care arrangements. Each student brings unique strengths, experiences and perspectives that enrich our school community.
Our approach is grounded in strong, respectful relationships between staff, students and families. We believe that when students feel known, supported and connected, they are more confident to engage in learning and future pathways. Through a welcoming, open-door philosophy, we encourage ongoing communication and collaboration with parents, carers and community partners and are governed through inclusive and educational guidance.
We provide a range of flexible learning pathways that are responsive to individual goals and aspirations. For students with disability and additional learning needs, individualised programs are developed to support access, participation and achievement. These programs are tailored to build independence, life skills and readiness for life beyond school.
Our staff are committed to creating supportive and structured learning environments where students are explicitly taught expectations, supported to make positive choices, and guided through consistent and nurturing approaches to behaviour. This ensures all students can learn in a safe and respectful setting.
At Gin Gin State High School, we are dedicated to helping every student identify their strengths, connect with community resources, and develop the skills needed to contribute confidently to a diverse and evolving society.
