BYOx (Bring Your Own Device) Laptop Program

WHAT IS BYOX?
All students in Years 7 to 12 are invited to participate in our BYOx program. BYOx stands for ‘Bring Your Own’ device.  The BYOx program maximizes learning opportunities as students have 24 hour access to school resources.
BYOx devices will have access to the same resources as school owned devices including filtered internet via the schools wireless network, access to network drives, access to school printers and FREE software.

WHAT PERSONAL DEVICES ARE ALLOWED?
Students are entitled to bring up to three devices. The primary device MUST BE a Windows based laptop and meet the minimum specification as outlined in the BYOx Charter Agreement. The secondary device can be a tablet, iPad, Apple Laptop or similar (no mobile phones are allowed on the BYOx network).  In order for the school to ensure the safety of its students and the computer network, only school-approved devices will be allowed into the classroom environment. This will involve a signed charter agreement that lists the responsibilities of the school, the parent/caregiver, and the student in regard to the use of the approved personally owned devices.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
Students must download and read the school charter agreement and return the attached consent form with their connection fee ($25 per student).  The IT department will then guide them through the “on-boarding” process and provide instructions on the use of the BYOx network.

WHAT FEES ARE INVOLVED?
There is an annual connection fee of $25 per student.
